The FredNet Weekender: October 22-24, 2004
October is rushing by so get out and enjoy some fall fun before it is too late.
On Saturday take a hike and gaze at some fall foliage in the Catoctin Mountain National Park. This Ranger led walk is free and covers about 3/4 of a mile at a leisurely pace. Call 301-663-9388 for details.
Get lost in one of the many corn mazes in the area. Shoot the Pumpkin Cannon and walk the 7 miles of trails at Lawyer’s Moonlight Maze. Or travel the 1/2 acre of twists and turns at the Crumland Farms Corn Maze.
On Saturday afternoon stop by the Frederick’s Farmers Market for cakes, pies, fresh produce, and more good grub. On Saturday night you can check out the Frederick Orchestra’s Northern Lights concert at FCC.
If I didn’t give you enough scary stuff to do in the last Weekender here are a couple more. Watch The Grudge, a new horror movie coming out this weekend. Or take a hike inspired by another horror movie, The Blair Witch Project. Those brave enough to take on the Burkittsville Witch Hike will let their imaginations run wild as guides fill their minds with “true” ghost tales of the area.
Did I miss anything? Let me know.
