[...] New stores are coming to the Shops at Monocacy. Camillions, selling ladies apparel & accessories, is already open. Bugs & Buttercups, opening soon, is a children’s store that will also sell maternity clothes. A place called Crop-til-ya-Drop, which I assume sells scrap booking stuff, is coming soon. And Chevy Chase Bank is building another branch (a new one just opened in the 7th Street Shopping Center). [...]

[...] My wife was nice enough to write a review of the Cold Stone Creamery that just opened in the Shops of Monocacy center. If you haven’t tried it, go now. I went twice in one day. Cold Stone’s technique is paddling the ice cream out on a special stone counter top to make it creamier. Then they paddle it more to combine other flavors and/or your favorite candy. This technique allows you to create lots of different flavors. Try your creation in a waffle cone, they are excellent. [...]

[...] I finally had a chance to try the Great Wall (301-695-9000), a new Chinese restaurant in the Shops at Monocacy. The place is pretty small. There are a few tables and booths, but I think its main focus is take-out (there is a stack of magazines to read while you wait). [...]

[...] In related news other stores in the new Shops at Monocacy center are starting to open. Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Quiznos, and Giant are now all open. A tanning salon, barber shop, Hair Cuttery, and a Verizon Wireless store are also open for business. Great Wall Chinese Kitchen and Starbucks look like they will open soon. [...]
