The Shops at Monocacy
The new Giant grocery store on Route 26 and Monocacy Blvd. will open this Thursday. I am glad because I live near and that means less travel time for me. I am also glad because the Shops at Monocacy will be bringing some new restaurants to the area. If you have not figured it out from reading this blog, I am a chow hound!
Here are the eateries that are planned for the new shopping center: Panera Bread, Mama Lucia, California Tortilla (yummy), Cold Stone Creamery, Five Guys, Quiznos Subs (these are popping up everywhere), and Great Wall Chinese Kitchen.
There are also retail stores coming to the new center including a tanning salon, nail place, wireless store, and barber.
The site says there are still nine open spots so perhaps more yummy food joints will be coming to the area. What kind of restaurants would you like to see in Frederick, Maryland?
Great site! I’m new to the area and enjoy reading up on what’s going on and where to go. I’m not in Frederick but am close enough to enjoy many of the things you discuss. I’m in the Frederick County end of Mount Airy.

Wow, a Panera! Great!! I also heard a rumor about Starbucks, too.

Starbucks would be good! According to the site there are still open spaces so maybe Starbucks is one of those.

Here is an update. Starbucks is coming to this center. Also the dollar store has opened and it looks like the Five Guys Burger and Fries is opening soon.
