Kickball

My wife and I played adult kickball this summer and it was a blast. We played in the Gaithersburg Division of the World Adult Kickball Association (WAKA). We pulled together a team of family, friends, friends of friends, and even a couple of free agents. It costs $60 per team member and that includes your t-shirt, equipment, WAKA membership card, division parties, and more.

One thing I love about kickball is that you don’t have to be a great athlete to play. You just get out there and run around like a kid. After the games all the teams go to Buffalo Billiards for discount brews and burgers. Also, each division adopts a charity that they raise money for throughout the season. This article from the Gazette sums up the experience.

The best news is that kickball may be coming to Frederick. Would you be interested in playing kickball in Frederick? What other sports do you play in Frederick? Leave a comment.

I will keep you posted! The only snag right now is a field. I know Frederick has a limited number of athletic fields but one advantage kickball has over other sports is that you truly only need a field and it dosnt have to be too huge. Stay tuned more to come.
