Cacique

My parents took my wife and I to Cacique for dinner not long ago. Cacique (26 N. Market St., 301-695-2756) is a new Spanish & Mexican restaurant in Old Town Frederick. We went on a Thursday evening and there was no wait.

The decorum is very nice and the place looked very clean, but when we sat down there was a big ass spider on my dad’s napkin. I have a girlish fear of spiders so I was kind of freaked out, but it was not a roach, so we stayed.

We ordered our meals and were brought chips and salsa right away. The spider must not have freaked me out too bad because I ate a whole basket of chips while we waited for the main course.

It took awhile to get our dinner, but it was worth the wait. I had chicken fajitas and my wife had a chimichanga. We both thoroughly enjoyed our dishes. My parents both had traditional Spanish dishes and they liked theirs to.

Unreasonable fear of spiders aside I would definitely go again.

Aside from being outrageously overpriced for Mexican food and ridiculously close seating quarters and annoyingly loud acoustics and subpar quality of food this place is excellent.
